TNIHPL Signs MoU with Tata Power Solar for 500 Beds at Gangaikondan Industrial Housing Facility

Tamil Nadu Industrial Housing Pvt. Ltd. (TNIHPL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Power Solar Ltd. (TPSL) to allocate 500 beds for their workforce at the Gangaikondan Industrial Housing Facility, located in SIPCOT Industrial Park, Tirunelveli district. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Minister for Industries, Investment Promotions & Commerce, T.R.B. Rajaa, at the Secretariat in Chennai on September 19, 2024.

This state-of-the-art facility will have a built-up area of 1,20,398 sq. ft., consisting of 145 rooms that can accommodate 870 beds, with top-notch amenities such as furniture, kitchen and dining areas, recreation halls, sports courts, and medical rooms. Designed to enhance the living conditions for industrial workers, the facility will primarily benefit the predominantly female workforce of Tata Power Solar.

TNIHPL, an SPV formed with SIPCOT, TNIFMC, and TIDEL, is focused on providing safe, secure, and affordable housing for workers in industrial areas across Tamil Nadu. The Gangaikondan facility is part of a broader initiative to develop five industrial housing complexes, with a total capacity of 4,414 beds across SIPCOT parks in Siruseri, Gangaikondan, Shoolagiri, Irungattukottai, and Cheyyar. These projects reflect the vision of Honourable Chief Minister Thiru. MK Stalin to drive industrial growth while enhancing worker welfare.

With an estimated investment of ₹50 crore, the Gangaikondan facility will cater to 1,500 employees, offering a secure and comfortable living environment to support the well-being and productivity of the workforce.
